Fetal Echocardiography
Fetal Eccocardiographys is the imaging of teh feta heart to evaluate for its structural and functional anomaly ,If any.Usually conducted at the same time as the Morphology Scan (18-20 weeks), fetal echocardiography is preferably done after 21 weeks of pregnancy. The Fetal Echo is also performed using high definition ultrasound. During this scan the flow of blood through the four chambers of the fetal heart is closely monitored to check for any abnormalities.
It is also performed to check the incoming and outgoing vessels as well as valve irregularity curve and to check for any holes in the heart (VSD). Heart defects are among the most common birth anomalies and an early detection allows for your physician to plan for immediate medical intervention when the baby is born.
