Getwell Medical Center is a registered clinic authorised to perform OGUK (Oil and Gas UK) offshore medical assessments. These evaluations determine fitness for work in offshore environments, such as the oil and gas industry or wind turbine installations. Only an OGUK-approved doctor can carry out this medical examination.
Who Requires an OGUK Medical?
- Individuals working offshore in UK or Norwegian waters.
- Personnel employed globally, whose companies recognise OGUK medicals.
What to Bring to Your OGUK Medical Appointment
- Valid Photo ID: A current passport or national ID card.
- Previous OGUK Certificate: If available, bring your old original OGUK certificate or equivalent documentation.
- Completed Medical Form: Print and fill out the digital form (in capital letters).
- Medical Records: Any reports from your GP or specialist for ongoing or recent health issues.
What Does an OGUK Medical Involve?
The assessment includes:
- Health Questionnaire: Completion and discussion of the OGUK medical questionnaire.
- Physical Examination: Measurements of height and weight.
- Urine Test: To evaluate kidney function and overall body health.
- Vision Test: Assessment of near, distance, and colour vision.
- Audiometry Test: Hearing test to detect any auditory issues.
- Drug and Alcohol Screening: If required by your employer, ensure you are aware of their specific requirements.
Your OGUK certificate will be issued after the examination, provided no medical condition requires additional consultation with your employer or authority. Certificates are valid for up to 2 years, depending on your health status.
