Offshore medicals are carried out to ensure an individual is fit to work in an offshore oil and gas exploration and production environment and travel to a specific country, and to promote good health in general.
OGUK Offshore Medicals
Offshore workers need to pass an Offshore Medical Examination if they wish to work offshore.
An OGUK Offshore Medical consists of the following:
- Completion of Past Medical History Questionnaire
- Urinalysis – routine & microscopic urine tests
- Near, Distance and Colour Vision
- Clinical Examinations of all body systems including BMI calculation
- Spirometry – Pulmonary Function Tests
- Audiogram – hearing assessment
- ECG
- Consultation with an OGUK doctor
- Laboratory tests – Haematology, Biochemistry, Serology
- Drugs of Abuse & Alcohol tests
